Aid For Ukraine

ukraine crisis

Ukrainian people need your help.

Since the start of the war, over 7.7 million people have been internally displaced in Ukraine according to IOM data, while over five million refugees and at least 233,000 third country nationals (TCNs) have sought safety across the border in neighbouring countries. Humanitarian needs in the region continue to rise, with affected populations requiring critical support.

The war has displaced more than a quarter of Ukraine’s population, with 12 million people forced to flee their homes. Some walked many miles through the night while others fled by train, car or bus, forming lines kilometres long at border crossings with neighbouring countries: Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Some even fled into Belarus.

Those arriving were primarily women, children and the elderly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prohibited men of military age from 18 to 60 from leaving. Unite Live Aid is providing urgent necessities and aid for those forced to flee, both within Ukraine and in neighbouring countries such as Poland and Moldova. But as the number of refugees rises exponentially each day, we need more support to provide urgent relief.
Unite Live Aid will support national and local governments, as well as non-governmental and civil society partners, across a variety of sectors. A key component of the response will be to enhance capacities to manage collective informal shelters, accommodation centres, reception and transit sites in a safe and dignified manner. Funds raised will enable Unite Live Aid to help the displaced Ukrainians have access to blankets, clothing, shoes, clean water, medicine, hygiene kits, and shelter.

Unite Live Aid will oversee monies raised to be directly distributed to the people of Ukraine.

Unite Live Aid intends to collaborate with the greatest names in the music industry in order to create a concert that will draw an audience and help Unite Live Aid raise money through a telethon that will help the refugee crisis in Ukraine.

The concert will create thousands of jobs in the state of NSW alone, and thousands of jobs in other countries participating in staging performances.

Unite Live Aid believes this concert will be the largest humanitarian initiative held anywhere in the world.

During the concert in addition to the music performances, video footage of well-known sporting celebrities and actors will be aired to show their support for the Unite Live Aid initiative.

This will also be a well-needed opportunity to showcase Australia’s greatest tourist destinations to a worldwide audience.
